Example 1. - DIGITAL ARTWORK

CroatiaWelcome CafeApproximately 6 hrs editing time.

This photograph was originally taken in Porec, Croatia. We did some detailed work on the original image and conversion to black & white. Then we created the 'Welcome Cafe' sign, followed by the inclusion of the Harley-Davidson Electraglide Ultra. Finishing touches make the difference; spot the spider and cobweb if you can. Image may be a little too small to see.

Welcome CafeWelcome Cafe The hardest element in creating this image was the 'Welcome Cafe' sign above the door and drawing a spiders web over the window frame on the right. You probably can't see the little spider dangling down from the web at this image size.

THE ORIGINAL DAMAGED PHOTO

Restoration work like this one we always take a high quality photograph of the original photograph ensuring it is retained in an unaltered condition.

Example-2 - HorseHorse & JockeyApproximately 2 hrs editing time.
This was for a client who had the original but rather tatty image of a relative taken quite some time ago. We edited out all the creases and scratches, enhanced contrast, then created two finished images, one in sepia, and another in black & white.

Example 3. - DIGITAL ARTWORK

Electraglide EditElectraglide UltraGarage conversion - approximately 1.5 hrs to complete.

This was a relatively simple edit. The motorcycle was photographed in the owners garage. Some basic enhancement of the bike was carried out, then all background artifacts were removed. Lastly a sky was added to create a great picture for the client. For completion, the mirror effect was included; small details such as clouds reflected in the lights and chrome work on bike.

Example 4. - PHOTO RESTORATION

A simple enough and classic restoration but still not to be underestimated. Adding colour can be tricky as can producing good skin tones.

After restoration we can usually sharpen the image to produce a good quality print up to A3.

One of my personal favourites . . .

Phase One

ORIGINAL IMAGE                                                                                     CUT-OUT OF THE HARLEY
The Harley was photographed at the summit of the Silvretta Pass in Austria. Then we have to make up a full cut-out of the motorcycle. This process took many hours. Every aperture, etc in disc brake holes, wheels, all had be made clear of the original background. The owners jacket had to be edited out from the top of the seat, stickers and fly splats also removed. Much grass also edited out. Phew what a challenging job!

   SALTBURN PIER                                                                                          THE FINISHED IMAGE

Now having the cut out to hand I can drop that picture absolutely anywhere. Here I chose a frozen Saltburn Pier, simply blurred out the background, added a little snow under the front wheel, a rear tyre track, reflections etc and away you go.

This image made centre page spread on the European Harley Owners Group magazine. What a reward for all that hard work.

IMG_1215-EditGood Boy - Bad BoyThe finished image - Approximately 3 hrs work to complete

This is another of my personal favourites (I like motorbikes). Only 3 hrs work for this image on the right. This was a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy which I had on loan as a courtesy bike for half a day. Ours went in for service at Doncaster, approx 90 mi from home. I though I can't ride round Donny for 4hrs; what else is there to do? So, I decided to ride it back home, stick it on the drive for a quick photo and lunch. And wham bam 3hrs later had this beauty!
